If you are thinking of starting a TikTok or YouTube live stream, these are the DJ essentials you need to start streaming on Tiktok.
Your live setup is the most important part of any stream! It needs to look and sound good! These are the recommended products you should consider buying to elevate your live streams, and help to grow your TikTok lives.
I am often asked, why do viewers not stay in my TikTok live stream?
The majority of the time, if the viewer is not engaged, or the stream is a low quality, or could use improvement, this could be the main factor, as to why viewers will not stay.
Check out these links below, for products I recommend.
DJ Decks/Controllers
Here are the DJ Decks/Controllers I use for my streams.
Denon Prime 4+
The Denon Prime 4+ is the standalone controller I use for my streams. It is great value for money, connects with Tidal, Beatport, Amazon Music and SoundCloud, and comes with 4 channels which can be used as standalone without the need of a PC or Laptop software.
I love the Denon Prime 4+, and they are ram packed with features and effects. If you want the same controller as me, you can buy the Prime 4+ on Amazon here (which is cheaper than what I paid)
Audio
improve your audio on streams with the below products that I use for my TikTok live DJ shows.
IRig Stream
The iRig Stream is an essential piece of kit for improved audio!
You can use the iRig to connect your decks/controller, to your iPhone, Android or PC/Tablet, and it will capture the audio from your decks and microphone (provided the microphone is connected to the decks), and will play that audio through your stream.
This sounds so much more professional, and will play your music through the TikTok live stream, instead of your audience hearing the audio, from your speakers.
RCA to RCA Cable
If you decks use RCA, you will need to connect your decks to the iRig. These are the cables I use.
Most decks run from XLR or RCA connections. I use XLR to RCA which can also be purchased on Amazon.
If your decks use RCA, you can use the RCA to RCA cables to connect the decks to the iRig, then the wires included with the iRig to connect to your phone or tablet using USB C or Micro- USB.
Shure SM58-LC Microphone
The Microphone I use is the Shure SM58. It is a great all round, industry standard microphone, with built in pop filter, and a cardioid microphone. That means you can talk into it from any direction.
It’s slightly more expensive than others, but the quality is miles apart. I can get fantastic audio sounds without being too close to the microphone too!
I highly recommend the SM58 microphone, which you can buy from Amazon.
Pioneer HDJ CUE1BT-K Headphones
This are the headphones I use to DJ. They offer a great crisp and bassy sound. They are lightweight and portable.
The HDJ CUE1BT-K headphones are a great set of headphones for anyone looking to start DJing in the bedroom.
Pioneer DJ DM-50D 5-inch Active Monitor Speaker
If you are looking for a set of monitor speakers to listen to your music whilst in the mix, I recommend the DM-50D speakers are a great budget starting point.
You’ll get clear active passthrough audio, with a great level of bass injection!
If you are looking to start DJing from the bedroom, or live streaming, these are a great starting point.
